Shailene Woodley Joins Lindsay Lohan in Hulu Miniseries Count My Lies

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Hulu has ordered the miniseries Count My Lies, starring Lindsay Lohan and Shailene Woodley. Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, known for This Is Us, will serve as executive producers.
The project, based on Sophie Stava’s new novel, is set to begin production next spring. In addition to starring, Woodley and Lohan will also serve as executive producers on the project, which is being produced by 20th Television.
Count My Lies, Stava’s debut novel, is a mystery published on March 4. It follows a character named Sloane Carraway, who has a pathological compulsion to lie. She changes her identity to become a nanny, convincing a wealthy couple to hire her. At first, it seems the woman’s dream has come true, but over time she uncovers the couple’s secrets, schemes, and deceptions. Aptaker and Berger are adapting the screenplay and will act as showrunners and executive producers through their company, Walk-Up.
Lohan—currently appearing in cinemas in Freakier Friday—will headline a television series for the first time. Her credits include The Parent Trap (1998), Freaky Friday (2003), Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004), and Mean Girls (2004), as well as four episodes of ABC’s Ugly Betty.
She recently returned to Walt Disney Studios to make the Freakier Friday sequel, which was released last week. Lohan also stars in the 2025 Netflix holiday film Our Little Secret. She is represented by IAG and attorney Dave Feldman.
Woodley, known for HBO’s Big Little Lies, the Divergent films, and The Fault in Our Stars, has recently appeared in Starz’s miniseries Three Women, Amazon MGM’s Killer Heat, and the Broadway play Cult of Love by Leslye Headland. She will also be seen in Motor City, directed by Patsy Ponciroli, which will screen at the Venice and Toronto film festivals. Count My Lies will be Woodley’s second Hulu/20th Television series after season two of Paradise, produced by Dan Fogelman.
Aptaker and Berger previously created How I Met Your Father for Hulu/20th Television and served as creators and executive producers of Love, Victor.
